History


Alfredo Di Roma®, an authentic Italian cuisine restaurant, has shared with the world its extraordinary original recipe that has been passed down through three generations of the Di Lelio family since 1908: Fettuccine Alfredo.


It all started when Alfredo Di Lelio (Alfredo I), worked in a small family restaurant in Piazza Rosa in Rome (disappeared in 1910 after the construction of the Galleria Colonna / Sordi). In 1908 his wife Inés gave birth to their firstborn Armando (Alfredo II), Alfredo Di Lelio, concerned about his wife's health, prepared noodles mixed with butter and fresh Parmesan cheese with his own hands. She ate it with gusto and suggested adding the dish to the menu at his small restaurant.


Alfredo Di Lelio opened his restaurant "Alfredo" in Rome in Via della Scrofa in 1914, which he sold to later open with his son Armando "Il Vero Alfredo" in Piazza Augusto Imperatore, where he currently continues the family tradition led by his son Armando until 1982 and now by his grandson Alfredo (Alfredo III) with his sister Ines Di Lelio.


In 1996 Alfredo Di Roma® opened its doors in Mexico City to invite us to discover a splendid selection of hors d'oeuvres, soups, pastas, risottos, fish, meat and desserts.

Mauro Chiecchio


Mauro Chiecchio executive chef of the restaurant Alfredo Di Roma, is originally from Vicoforte, Italy. He studied cooking at the Instituto Professionale Alberghiero.


Chef Chiecchio's career has developed in different parts of the world, beginning at the San Remo restaurant in Birmingham (Great Britain), later he began working on the Fairsky cruise ship that sails between California and Mexico and continues at The Edges restaurant in New York. Desiring to work for a while in his native Italy, he moved to Genoa to join the team at the Albergo Paradiso restaurant in Moneglia, later he joined the Belvedere hotel in St. Moritz, (Switzerland), the Al Porto hotel in Ascona and to the world-renowned Splendido hotel located in Portofino (Italy), where he worked for 4 years in different positions within his industry.


During the winter months, the Splendido hotel suspended its services, so he traveled to Thailand to the Amanpuri hotel Phuket of the Aman Resort group as chef of the Italian restaurant, and later, he moved to the Caribbean to the K-Club hotel in Barbuda. In Washington DC, he works as a consultant chef at the famous Café Milano.


Mauro arrives on the island of Cozumel in Mexico, to be in charge of one of the Grupo Presidente restaurants and later he is appointed Executive Chef of the Alfredo Di Roma restaurant, located inside the Presidente InterContinental México Polanco hotel, where every day his kitchen transmits the Italian tradition of pasta made at the moment and al dente!.

It is our activity program for children from 3 to 12 years old where they can play, draw, watch children's movies and do crafts, among others; all under the supervision of qualified personnel to care for and entertain the little ones in the house, since their safety is our priority. In addition, we have a children's buffet inside the ChiquiClub.


Children's buffet (optional): $150

Adult buffet (babysitter): $200


Schedule: Saturdays from 13:00 hrs. to 19:00 hrs.

                   Sundays from 12:30 hrs. to 18:30 hrs.
